MWL’s Conference pays tribute to Hazrat Khadija-tul-Kubra (RA)

Central Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Mrs. Noshaba Zia has said that Hazrat Khadija-tul-Kubra (RA), the mother of believers, was the first woman who placed her faith in the prophethood of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and affirmed veracity of Islam. She also had the rare honour of being the first wife of the Holy Prophet (SAW). She was a dignified and respectable woman who belonged to the distinguished Quraish tribe. She was known by the title of ‘Tahira’ in Makkah and adjoining areas owing to her excellent character, higher moral values, and nobility. Generosity and help for the poor were foremost attributes she possessed.

Mrs. Noshaba Zia expressed these views while addressing a memorial conference held to mark the death anniversary of Hazrat Khadija-tul-Kubra in the central secretariat of MQI yesterday. Sajida Zia, Gulshan Irshad, Farida Sajjad, Shakira Chaudry and Malika Saba were also present on the occasion.

MWL Secretary General said that Hazrat Khadia (RA) enjoyed great prestige and honour in the eyes of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and Islam, for she was the mother of Hazrat Fatima-tuz-Zahra (RA), the esteemed daughter of the Prophet of Islam (SAW). As long as Hazrat Khadija-tul-Kubra (RA) lived, the Holy Prophet (SAW) did not contract second marriage in her presence.

Mrs. Noshaba Zia said that when the Holy Prophet (SAW) would feel aggrieved and pained due to sufferings created by the infidels, her sight would be a source of comfort for the Prophet (SAW). He (SAW) would forget his pain and difficulties and become happy the moment he would meet her. Sayyida Khadija-tul-Kubra (RA) loved the Holy Prophet (SAW) most dearly, provided all the means for the ease, happiness and comfort of the Holy Prophet, so much so that she put all her resources at the disposal of the Prophet (SAW). She sank her likes and dislikes in the likes and dislikes of the Holy Prophet (SAW).

Allah Almighty sent greetings for Sayyida Khadija-tul-Kubra (RA) during her life at the hands of Hazrat Jabrail (AS) and gave her glad tidings of a beautiful palace in Paradise. The Holy Prophet (SAW) would often remember Hazrat Khadija (RA). There can be no greater argument in favour of her status and prestige in the eyes of the Holy Prophet (SAW) than this that he did not enter into marriage with any other woman during the former’s life.

The words the Holy Prophet (SAW) expressed to describe her exemplary sacrifices represent his love for her. He (SAW) said: “By God, Khadija believed in me at a time when people rejected me. Khadija gave me place when people refused to accommodate me with them and Khadija (RA) gave me children.”
