PAT Secretary General, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, has said that the US Secretary of Defence came to Pakistan with a seven-point agenda. He said that America has told Pakistan that it did not need Pakistani routes for Nato supply. He said that the United States had entered into an agreement with Iran, adding that Washington was neither friend nor enemy of anyone and was wedded to its interest only. He said that there was a need of employing balance while structuring relations with the US.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur expressed these views while addressing a meeting of PAT’s Central Working Council, which met here with Gandapur in the chair. Bashrat Aziz Jaspal, GM Malik, Jawad Hamid, Qazi Faiz ul Islam, Ch Afzal Gujjar and others were present on the occasion.

He said that our rulers surrendered themselves before the US during their visit. He said that programme to plunder national resources through privatization of 15 state enterprises had been made. He said that these state owned enterprises would be put on the loot sale and sold away to the favourite and hand-picked ‘investors’ on paltry prices. He said that black money of people was being whitened in the name of ‘investment’ and all opportunities were being explored to enable the corrupt and filthy rich to whiten their ill-gotten wealth. He said that solution to the raging problems facing the state and society was in peaceful and democratic change. He asked the people of Lahore to come on streets on December 29 and support Pat’s agenda of change.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that this country should be freed from corrupt and predatory ruling elite. He said that corrupt politicians paved the way for imposition of martial laws. He said that army dictatorship was not a solution of the problem rather it added to their complexity and number. He said that the present political system had miserably failed to offer any solution to the challenges, adding that revolution was the only way out of the predicaments. He said that Parliament was crowded with corrupt elements who did not allow anyone to vie for power. He said that taking to streets and demonstrating for one’s rights was a constitutionally guaranteed right.
