Saving youth from drugs is a shared challenge: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Saving the youth from the scourge of drugs is a shared responsibility of the state, religious scholars, civil society, and religious and political parties. Healthy, and educated youths guarantee Pakistan's progress and prosperity. Media has a central role to play in the national fight against drugs.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, president of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, expressed these views while addressing a winter study camp organized for the students belonging to Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan. He said Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has been educating the youth about the benefits of knowledge, peace and excellent manners for the last four decades. He said that the students of Balochistan and GB are peace-loving and patriotic citizens, stating that he is hugely pleased to interact with them. He said that MQI extends its warm welcome to them as they braved the rigors of the journey and came all the way from their respective places.

MQI President said that the students must stay away from extremism and all other divisive ideologies. He said that they should beware that the anti-Pakistan elements do not let any opportunity of misleading the youth pass. He said that Pakistan is in dire need of young leaders who have the knowledge, vision and drive to take it forward in the 21st century, adding that such leadership will emerge from among the students.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri underlined the need of getting knowledge in the fields of science, medicine, engineering, and information technology and urged the students to make study their second nature. He said the Holy Quran is the source of all knowledge, stating that the recitation of the Holy Quran and deliberation on it can make one develop insights. He asked students to particularly study the Quranic Encyclopedia compiled by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri that covers 5000 topics in the eight volumes.

Central president MSM Chaudhry Irfan Yousaf also addressed the winter study camp. He threw light on the aims and objectives of the camp and welcomed the students. Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi delivered lectures to the students on different topics. Farhan Aziz, Raja Ata-ul-Mustafa, Hassan Ali, Fraz Hashmi and other student leaders also attended the winter study camp.

More than 70 students from Balochistan and GB are part of the winter study camp that will continue for one month.
