Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the only way to stop million-man marach on January 14 is the establishment of a caretaker setup in consulation with all stakeholders, which enjoys the confidence of the masses. He said that the mandate of caretkaer government should include implementation of electoral reforms in accordance with constititional provisions and the holding of elections within 90 days.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while addressing central exectuive counil of MQI, which met here under his leadership in Model Town Lahore.
Dr Qadri congratulated the MQI workers both in Pakistan as well as in other countries and the entire nation on the huge success of December 23 programme. He directed all workers of MQI to leave no effort in preparing for mega event of January 14. More 100 committees were established on the occasion to make arrangements for the long march. These committees would function under the leadership of Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that mass participation of people in the public meeting of December 23 was proof of the fact that the masses were desirous of change and were ready to play their role in this regard.
