MQI reaching out to all sections of society for change: Dr Abbasi

Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that we would not rest until the electoral system is changed in the country. He said that the real enemy of the poor people was the exploitative and unjust electoral system, so it was mandatory on them to take to streets and seek change in the system for their better future. He further said that those claiming to bring about change would not be able to succeed in their political tricks. He said that MQI was in the practical arena to change the system for positive future of our succeeding generations.

Dr Raheeq Abbasi expressed these while talking to the heads of administrative committees established to make arrangements for public meeting today in central secretariat of MQI Lahore today.

Dr Abbasi said that upcoming public awareness rally in Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi would be attended by the hundreds of thousands of people and it would introduce a new trend in national politics. He said that Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri would expose the faces of the real enemies of the nation who are a major hurdle in their way of progress and prosperity.

Dr Abbasi said that the ritual of elections would not change the destiny of the masses. The real and meaningful change, he added, would come about when people would struggle for it through democratic and peaceful means. He said that MQI was reaching out to each section of society to send the system of caste-ism, hooliganism, corruption, and incompetence packing. “Unless the electoral system is uprooted, even the hundreds of elections would not make any difference. The Public Awareness Rally in Rawalpindi would be a starting point for a comprehensive change in the system,” he concluded.
