MSM Islamabad Addressed Educational Underfunding at National Press Club Seminar

MSM Islamabad Hosts Education Budget Seminar At National Press Club 2026

Following the formal announcement of the federal budget, Mustafavi Students Movement (MSM) Islamabad hosted a strategic Education Budget Seminar at the National Press Club, Islamabad. The seminar was presided over by Salman Karim (President, MSM Islamabad), bringing together student leaders, policy advocates, and media representatives to critically analyze the finalized fiscal allocations and their long-term impact on the academic sector.

The high-profile event saw active participation from Syed Bilal Hasan (Central Vice President, MSM Pakistan), along with leading policy analysts, academic professionals, and a large delegation of students from across the capital's premier educational institutions.

Our Core Resolutions Addressed at the Seminar:
The 5% Mandate: We firmly demand that a minimum of 5% of Pakistan’s GDP be allocated strictly to education. Short-term fiscal adjustments are no longer enough to support our struggling academic infrastructure. Building a Knowledge-Based Economy: True sustainable growth and global competitiveness are impossible under the current level of academic underfunding.

This seminar was just the beginning. The budget layout has been decided, but our structural advocacy and nationwide mobilization across academic institutions will only intensify. Our demand stands firm: 5% GDP for Education - NOW.
