All political and religious leaders to be invited on December 23: Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of MQI’s Supreme Council, has said that present electoral system is the real enemy of people and democracy and responsible for the challenges facing the country at external and internal level. He said that PAT or MQI would not take part in politics. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was returning to Pakistan with an agenda of saving the state, not politics. He would lay bare his agenda before the nation on the 23rd of December 2012 at Minar-e-Pakistan and invite the political parties to work for a new Pakistan.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri expressed these views while addressing a seminar titled ‘Let us save state, not politics’ held under the banner of Movement Club in Lahore today. Saeem Alam, Yousaf Youqub and others were present on the occasion.

Dr Hassan said that no political party, including PPP, PML-N was enemy of the country. Rather the real enemy was electoral system currently in vogue which fosters corruption, hooliganism, culture of winning horses and foul play in politics. He said that leadership of all political and religious parties would be invited to attend the public reception at Minar-e-Pakistan on December 23 without any discrimination.

Dr Hassan said that efforts were gaining momentum to extend historic and extraordinary welcome to Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri not only in provincial metropolis but also in the entire country. He said that MQI was not against elections and considered it as a legitimate means for transfer of power but added in the same context that the concept of real democracy did not exist in the country altogether. He said that elections often result in empowerment of a select number of elite families and the masses remain powerless.

Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Tassawar Alam and Allama Sadiq Qureshi also spoke on the occasion.
