Rulers should fear repeat of Tahrir square in Pakistan: MQI

Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, senior Deputy Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the people, who were already hard pressed by skyrocketing inflation, have further been deprived of their jobs and businesses due to huge load-shedding.

He said that the power outages had rendered life into a hell for the people. He said that protest against power crisis was the fundamental right of the masses but hooliganism, loot and plunder and destruction of national assets was not the right way to go about things.

He said that four years of provincial and federal governments have increased the graph of the problems facing the people. He said that present electoral system was responsible for the mess, for those sitting in the assemblies were unaware of and least pushed by the need to resolve these issues. He warned the rulers that they should fear the day when every square of Pakistan presents a scene of Tahrir square.
