Geo News: ECP reconstitution: SC to hear Qadri’s petition today

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan will take up Tahirul Qadri’s petition, filed for the reconstitution of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Monday (today), Geo News reported.

Three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed will hear the case.

Dr Tahirul Qadri himself will represent his case before the apex court.

The Supreme Court has issued notices to Tahirul Qadri, Attorney General, Chief Election Commissioner and the Federation.

Qadri had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on February 7 according to which the appointments made to the Election Commission were not in accordance with articles 213 and 218 of the constitution.
